Filmmaker Israel Luna has confirmed that filming is to start in October for “Kicking Zombie Ass For Jesus,” a full length film that focuses on the only two surviving groups of a zombie apocalypse in Texas who have taken refuge in the same building. The two groups must decide if they can put aside their differences and work together or continue fighting amongst themselves while the zombie horde advances. Can a group of enthusiastically religious “bible thumpers” work together with a gay and lesbian group of survivors to hold off the zombies? In Texas. In the same building. With guns.
Luna has stated this film, the second in a trilogy his production company La Luna Entertainment plans to make, was inspired to help curb the flood of anti-gay hate speech seen from different organizations, churches and politicians. It serves as a companion to Ticked-Off Trannies With Knives.
Luna goes on to say, “This film was inspired by the flood of anti-gay, despicable, hate speech from churches, organizations and politicians. This bullying needs to stop! As filmmakers, we have a voice to fight back by creating a movie that faces these issues head on.”
The grind house style film will start shooting October 7th and is expected to be released in early 2014. They have already secured international distribution so provided communication doesn’t completely break down between now and then, fellow Canadian survivors who can hold out can expect some real over the top, 70’s style entertainment in the new year!
Currently attached to the film is Willam Belli, maybe best known as a former RuPaul’s Drag Race contestant, but who is a well established actor, singer and drag queen with well over 10 years of TV and film credits. Other stars of the film include Krystal Summers, Richard Curtain, Allyn Carrel, John De Los Santons and Jenna Skyy as Tipper Sommore.
