We’ve known for some time that the Walking Dead universe was expanding and I think it’s safe to say that a lot of us having been excited to see what the creators come up with.
I’ve said it before and I’ll more than likely say it again, the original series has been feeling a bit long in the tooth, though it is on a definite upswing. Fear the Walking Dead doesn’t feel as tired though to be honest, to me it’s never really hit the highs as some of the original seasons of TWD.
But this new World Beyond. What is it? Who are they? How will it work? Etc. and so on. I’ve been curious and after the first trailer, remained that way.
Then Trailer 2 happened. You should have watched it already, if not, it’s at the top of the page.
All I could think of was … did Disney buy the rights and do a cross production with the CW? I feel like it’s Riverdale meets Disney’s Zombies 2. The colors, the music, the angst …
Now to fair, I’ve actually seen on some sites and social media accounts of those involved with The World Beyond that it is quite good. And I am totally going to watch it. I’m just not sure my expectations are as high as they were before yesterday.
Oh, one other interesting note. The Walking Dead: World Beyond is a 2 season limited event.
2 x 10 episode seasons give us a defined storyline window and the knowledge that the writers behind the series have a very specific plot in mind.
