It’s taken a while, but the launch date for Microsoft’s new game console has been set, at least for Canada and the U.S. and a little over a dozen other countries. Originally the release was to happen in 22 countries, but Microsoft has backed off that number and reduced it to 14.
The XBox One is to be released November 22nd, a full week after Sony’s Playstation 4 hits the market and a week before Black Friday and Cyber Monday, traditionally the biggest retail days of the year.
While we haven’t seen the numbers for Canada, in the U.S. the pre-sale units for the XBox one have sold out, although Microsoft always releases additional units on the first day of the launch. Otherwise, what would we line up at stores for beside drawing the press and getting them even more promotional air time.
Prices for the Day One edition in Canada are $499 and are available for pre-sale at all major Canadian retailers.
We will have a list of zombie games that will be released for the XBox one soon.
